working on a few new songs. am liking the first verse which imagines my daughter as an old lady rhyming “your future” with “drinking kombucha”. deserve a nomination for a warren zevon award. walking in high park, tons of people no social distancing. like the sufi story where people give up their knowledge of a plague and voluntarily victimize themselves due to loneliness, but so far keeping my mask on. recorded more karen gordon for the audio version of the book. love her voice. feels right to work with her though other people (including her) ask why i’m not recording me reading my words. not sure how to explain it just know it’ll be more satisfying. have already spent a whole lifetime hearing my voice. globe and mail interview happened. first question was what’s this book about? i felt incomplete trying to explain, something wasn’t right, thought about it a few times since and realized today i don’t know what my book is about. what a relief to figure that out. can’t wait to be asked again.
