the research methods meeting

Some fellow students organized a meeting to discuss how to teach one of the courses we take. It confused me when I received the invitation, so I asked the organizer if the point was to specifically discuss how the course should be taught and/ or what should be taught. She said yes that’s the point. This feels political and woefully woke. If I want to learn how to play piano I don’t expect for me to tell the teacher how to teach me. I’ll pick a pianist with a reputation for knowing the material and how to teach it. If their reputation falls short I’ll go elsewhere. If I can’t speak Spanish or understand particle physics should I explain to both professors how to teach the material I do not yet know? What sort of person would feel entitled to address the people already credited in their fields like that?
