there was a composer who spent twenty years making melodic music but was unsatisfied so one day she changed course. she spent the next twenty years only playing dissonant music. eventually she also found this unsatisfying. the walls that contained both systems were the problem. so she started to compose using both types of aesthetics within one piece. it annoyed almost everyone and almost everyone agreed it was pointless and uninteresting music.. except her. that’s what she did the rest of time.
