On a camping trip the last two weeks. My friend lent me a ground sheet and I notice a surprising trend in camping equipment since I was a young camper and we painstakingly folded everything as small as possible. The large groundsheet fits into a small mesh bag not by folding it up but by scrunching it, same for sleeping bags. It’s a shock compared to the earlier methods of what was considered the correct way and one immediately thinks why not? Doesn’t it work?
