student 1: what are you writing about for the job assignment?
student 2: my sister’s violin teacher. I like the way he dresses and his soft speech and he plays violin.
student 1: I’m going to write about my dad.
student 2: about his job?
student 1: about getting fired.
student 2: what was he fired from?
student 1: he wasn’t yet but it’s coming. boss doesn’t like him.
student 2: is he bad?
student 1: he’s good at it, she’s bad at it.
student 2: why is she going to fire him?
student 1: he’s in her way.
student 2: mr. itianni looks frail and small but he’s a good teacher.
student 1: does he ever say the wrong thing at the wrong time?
student 2: I don’t know.
student 1: that’s my dad.
student 2: he says the wrong thing at the wrong time? Maybe he should be fired.
student 1: fired people for being different?
student 2: I take that back, you’re right. Different instruments make the band.
student 1: yeah.
student 2: but the person in charge isn’t necessarily wise.
student 1: yeah, I’ve seen that before.
student 2: sometimes the leader of the band isn’t the best player.
student 1: no way.
student 2: way.
student 1: what else do you like about the violin teacher?
student 2: when he doesn’t care about someone complaining he puts his thumb and index finger together rubbing them and says it’s the smallest violin in the world playing for you.
