Still mulling over biologist Bruce Lipton’s book about cellular life. We are not the person in the mirror thinking we are the person in the mirror, we are 50 trillion cells in the mirror. He sees humanity as a living organism vs. separate people believing they are separate people, is that not more beautiful? How long can you remember you are a little fleck of life on a planet among planets in a universe among universes, before you start thinking about whether you have the best data plan on your phone or deserve a croissant? Another interesting thing I found in his writing was how many deaths are attributed to medicalization. It is a big number. I watched a skunk pretend to be a squirrel that wanted to fly. Tried telling him this was the wrong neighbourhood but couldn’t make myself understood and a fight almost broke out. I left. A large branch fell onto the path, when I inspected it found it had cracked but not yet enough to be broken off. I knew I should move it but it might look to others as if I was some kind of asshole that breaks off large branches of trees for something to do. I waited until everyone was out of sight. The song I wrote about Jian Ghomeshi, his lawyer Marie Henein, Christie Blatchford and Kathryn Borel had not found a rhythm to it I approve of until today, when I tried it like a ska song. It sounded too much like obladi oblada until I reversed the bass pattern and it most definitely sounds like something I can’t place.
