My friend asked about the Art Tatum stuff I was studying. I told him it’s surprising that some of those fast passages are based on very simple feats of the hand. He plays the piano but not a lot and tried to stop me from elaborating but I was too excited and started to show him. He didn’t care. He didn’t want to try because he knew he didn’t understand it and wanted to stay that way or so it seemed to me after when I reflected on our exchange. Apparently string theory indicates the world is a ten dimensional place or to put it another way, using string theory requires interpreting things via ten dimensions. They say the four dimensions x,y,z, and time are obvious and the other six are just rolled up. Every time I try to understand this, I get to a point where I don’t want to hear it anymore, just stop it, shut up, go away.

HaHa! Yes.
I’ve been feeling a little like this while reading The Dancing Wu Li Masters.
