I’m working on four note chords in my right hand which I first heard explained in Youtube videos analyzing Errol Garner techniques. They didn’t get under my skin at first, but now it’s my favourite thing. There’s a very slight shift in ascending and whether to make the inner interval a third or a fourth. The resulting sound has a lot of gospel weight and I also like where it sends my piano mind, scanning scales from new points of consideration.
