I was practising playing Martha My Dear. I always thought McCartney was saying help yourself to a better what is all around you. I thought it was cool way to say it. But in fact, it’s help yourself to a bit of what is all around you. Makes sense, but I still like the misinterpretation more. I also find Martha My Dear, Lady Madonna and Maybe I’m Amazed pianistically brilliant. In the Let It Be footage I kept hoping for a topographic angle when he played.
