I wonder how long people will still say Twitter. I still say Skydome. Sometimes people change their names after I have known them a long time by a different name. It takes a long time to change my reaction to the new name if I ever do. At the same time, the name was invented in the first place. A name is just that, right? A holder for something else. Language never ceases to fascinate for that reason. You say chair or subway or lasagna but they all are only words representing the thing. The thing itself is that thing. The thing so amazing is the speed of brains knowing the word is just a placeholder and moving forward calculating that middleman process seamlessly. I think of the interview with Stanley Clarke once upon a time wherein he commented on his brilliant sight reading skills and said he could read fly shit.
