It might be that we are wired up to see morality as something worth struggling to create or preserve, as if it is superior. It might be that we are under a spell believing it makes sense to try sustaining a moral world when in fact life never was moral or ever interested in privileging one action over any other, except self preservation. It means eating anything and everything with no apologies. The leopard kills the pregnant gazelle, or the kid pulverizes the ant hill or sets it on fire with a magnifying glass. It might be that the actual order of life has absolutely nothing to do with kindness. Our attraction or pleasure surrounding it might actually be unnatural. In a world where George Harrison can have a hit singing “keep me free from birth” I anticipate someone eventually being number one with a bullet singing on the unnatural state of kindness.
