Started The Power Broker, about Robert Moses. This is very amazing story and I understand why it was so highly recommended by writer friends. Moses was someone both with admiral attributes and repelling behavior…and who isn’t? The details and creativity behind understanding how absolute power corrupts absolutely is impressive. I started it at first because of liking Jane Jacobs, who years ago I heard moved to Toronto partly in disgust of Moses, who she picketed to stop one of many New York expressways. I think she also moved here to avoid the draft in the 1960s for her son. She lived on Albany steet in the Annex. Maybe she even played the Tranzac open stage. This came about after I asked a big shot music industry person if they could recommend business people behind the scenes to discuss in my new music business course. They shared some ideas I had not thought about and then they pointed me to the documentary Turn Every Page about Robert Caro and Robert Gottlieb and the writing of The Power Broker.
