I was all set to play a bit of a movie in the last class, a movie about how Napster was destroyed which I think part of music business history for my music business class but then I asked the students how they imagined facilitating a Canadian tour. I wanted to point out the way to view it means grasping where most of Canada’s population lives and being strategic about the cost of travel and how to integrate college/ community radio into promoting your efforts. Eventually those points were understood but first they described their views of where to go how to get there. I like these types of conversations very much. Someone expects to play Vancouver after Toronto. That shouldn’t be a problem. Someone else says they will find a place to sleep each night for free from stranger… as if that’s easy and a no brainer.
