In the Thomas Sowell biography I’m currently reading it is a bit amazing when in the 1960s he realizes it is pointless to try and fight with faculties or Universities. Instead, after being mislead and lied to, he says fuck it and resigns. In the following decades he writes 40 books and over 300 journal articles. The author, Jason L. Riley, points out through his books he ends up teaching more people over the 80s, 90s and 2000s than if he remained in academia. It is a good point. My recent years teaching supplies me with an up close and personal view of the university or College politics. I know some teachers who feel repressed and resentful about this education culture, as though their best intentions are impeded. I am not as upset as them because I already know both nobility and outright deceit. Been a working musician a long time.
