Started working on scale patterns which, according to somebody on YouTube, turns slobs like me into Bill Evans. I have a long way to go but the patterns are instantly rewarding except when I fall on my face like every time I try to be swift in C#, Eb, F# and G#. Funny how many patterns one can see when playing an instrument. You internally announce D or Bb and presto: presto it be uploaded. At bedtime my daughter wants stories, almost always. I scope out the crannies of wherever I come from memories. It is my duty again to be a comforting voice of story before sleep. However, whatever my first memories are usually not shareable like for instance throwing up drinking tequila in high school. It is a very beautiful dance the parent pirouette, occupying young person reassurance all the while knowing they must eventually expand their circle beyond the safety of you being like C or F or G. Any day now life will naturally pull them to C# and F#.
