Student: What does your t-shirt mean?
Teacher: The quote?
Student: Which war is over?
Teacher: It is a slogan from a campaign John Lennon and Yoko Ono started fifty-five years ago.
Student: Which war?
Teacher: I think they meant people can do anything, like people can stop war.
Student: You think people can fly?
Teacher: We went to the moon. We have airplanes.
Student: Sounds stupid.
Teacher: Maybe, but-
Student: Hippies.
Teacher: True.
Student: But people can’t fly, we can’t just do anything.
Teacher: I don’t think their point was people could add more legs and arms to their bodies but whatever we create we can alter. You know people used to smoke in airplanes, in hospitals, in elevators in movie theaters?
Student: Disgusting.
Teacher: You also see the second line of the shirt?
Student: “If you want it”.
Teacher: Right. That’s the point.
