I have not read Ernest Hemingway though one time at the vegetarian restaurant on Bloor I saw his granddaughter, Mariel, in a booth with others. I was starstruck but did not make a fool of myself. Said nothing but did love Manhattan, never saw Star 80. I read Hemingway said about writing to stop when you have something good so when you return you easily continue the fire. A very good way to think about it and a technique I already was doing most of the time, however, sometimes it becomes a mess and there is no solution except the solutions for messes. Take a small part and fix it. Like Steve Kado wisely wrote all those years ago in the Barcelona Pavilion Tidy Up, Tidy Up, Put it Away.
