Fun to sit next to Bruce Moffet at Maja Bannerman’s show yesterday. I incorrectly recalled Mark Miller’s book about Claude Ranger and asked Doug Wilde about him who told me he never knew him. It was in fact Doug Riley that Miller referenced but Bruce chimed that he took a lesson or two with Claude. That’s all I wanted to hear. I want to know more about the myth. I am trying to insert someone like him into the book. The last time I saw Geordie MacDonald, at the Future Bakery, he enjoyed telling me about Claude pissing off Moe Koffman. Geordie called him the Lone Ranger (emphasis on pronouncing Ranger in the style my daughter calls Quebekian).
