ghost booking

Almost every date for the Western Canada tours confirmed. Now we stare at the real puzzle. Where to sleep each night. A few dates come with hotels. Others are a coin toss between friends and Airbnbs. Otherwise everything is set. We know where we’re playing. Which wheels we’re driving. Which airlines to book and curse at later.

And then, last night, while mapping out accommodations, the calendar app on my phone lit up with a new notification I didn’t create. “Stay arranged,” it read. For four of the nights. Four. Exactly the ones we don’t yet know. I tapped the message. It disappeared. Gone, not saved. A ghost planner with access to my itinerary. Maybe it was a glitch. Maybe I pressed something by accident. Maybe my daughter hacked my phone as a joke. Good for her. Or maybe the tour itself got impatient, and filled in the blanks.
