Sometimes I have been told by people that so and so is imitating you or ripping you off but truth is I started it. I crossed the line worse than anyone you know. I have no idea what ever happened to her, but at a United Synagogue Youth conclave between kids from Winnipeg and Minneapolis, in the 70s, I impressed this one particular girl, at a talent show where I destroyed all the wannabes by playing guitar and singing David Bromberg’s “You Got To Suffer (if you want to sing the blues). Afterward, I sent her a bunch of songs written by Bromberg and other artists who I thought obscure, like George Harrison, and claimed these were songs I wrote for her. I was 13. Wish I could hear that cassette today.
