Looking for an agent. Had some recent exchanges that were pointless, questions like “where do you see yourself in 3 years?” or “what were your sales like for 2015 – 2017?” or “Let me know when you’re playing next?” to which I said why don’t we have coffee this week and just meet and discuss the business of what I’ve done and what I want to do? No reply. I did the wrong thing by suggesting we be like ordinary people, like farting in email. Would I buy them dinner? That’s my test. I usually book myself, as do most of my friends but the truth is when the artist calls, the promoter lowballs them and if an agent calls they can’t. I have my theories but ultimately, to quote Rose Winston, “that’s the way ’tis”.
