More than one student writes songs about betrayal and revenge. More than one tells me they’re afraid they will cause a ruckus in present relationships or friends. I suggest hide behind Zeus. Many people write about something they appear to be interested in but there are other reasons for their interest. Zeus wanted to have an affair with a mortal woman named Io but Hera his wife knew what was up. She surprised them in a cloud where they were meeting alone. As Zeus realized Hera would find them out he changed Io into a cow. Hera made her dramatic entrance and Zeus acted like what’s going on I’m just hanging out with this cow. Beautiful cow eh? Hera, knowing he was lying shared admiration for the cow and said she could use it. Zeus couldn’t deny her. She took the cow put it in a field with her most faithful servant Argos the 100 eyed giant, to stand guard against anyone trying to steal her back. He kept many eyes trained 24/7. Things looked grim for Io ever bing other than a cow. Zeus was guilt ridden and sent Hermes so distract Argos. Hermes told Argos a story that had no beginning middle or end. It went on and on until Argos died (they say this is where bored to death started). To commemorate him Hera had Argus’s 100 eyes planted on peacock plumage.

Wonder what waits for you there, should you go the distance
Will I have answers if I surprise you, remember your wife can be proud
I have my doubt about your love I’m watching you from distance
Your heart seems less like it knows me more distracted by clouds
Have you seen my anger, my love has this other side
Don’t go being all wishy washy, fat chance you are in fog
I’ll damage your innocent lover I can hurt you too
I didn’t marry you just because you were a God
