The twelve year old son of the conductor went to music camp. At the end of the session every kid won an award. His was the inspirational camper award. At the podium he thanked whoever came to mind which did not include his father. There was no reason for the omission, just nervous about the attention. His father later viewed the video and took it personally. He complained to his social media circles that his son didn’t thank him. Some wrote reassuring comments about what a good father he was or how his son should be more grateful but the French horn player changed the tone of the thread, “so he didn’t thank you, big deal, he is only 12 years old”. Then the harpist and the flautist took the kid’s side even further and chastised the conductor especially for plugging this publicly on socials. Soon the bassist attacked the wind and string players, calling them names and insinuating they were second class musicians anyway. Eventually the whole orchestra turned baleful, each out-flaming the other. The documentarian who had been shooting everything, came out ahead. A lot of colourful footage and psychological action. Later, in the Q & A, after winning the Cinéfest Sudbury audience favourite award, someone asked who he thought was in the right. The filmmaker said he just wanted to see if film use film could catch the way judgement is a stand still and go-nowhere-forever, experience.
