I wonder if people in the future create conditions for life to be extended indefinitely, like if growing new organs to replace one’s older organs becomes a regular thing and more cures result for various incurable diseases, if in light of humans possibly living for durations of 2 or 3 hundred years, what it would do to our relationship to death and life, would it actually do anything at all? Is music similarly stunning for what music has been in previous times considered music and where it is morphing. It was and has been about the effort of training one’s body to master aspects of acoustic musical creations but it’s morphing into more machine based musics and the celebration of musicians whose relationships are with machines often requiring a minimal movement from their body to trigger musical velocities that are machine based. It isn’t the only thing going on but it’s very notable to me how prevalent it is and how absent the former is.
