The idea would be to take a hit song, from years ago or right now, and take apart the elements. Like if it was Let It Be, it would be to sort out what the drums do, the bass, the guitar, the piano, McCartney’s voice, the background vocals, the organ etc. etc. and either try to reassemble them in a different order or else replay them in a different way. Would love to do this because in many ways, most of us already try to do things like this with things we love. Seems like it would be a decent assignment but often the intro class includes some folks without much experience in imitation. Will have to save it for another day when I already know the skill set of everyone.
