Pink Floyd

In the class this morning, the song one student chose as their “song that changed your life” was Money by Pink Floyd. It surprised me to view the lyrics to this iconic song and realize there were two or three sections I never understood. “New car, caviar, four star daydream think I’ll buy me a football team” is so much better then the unspecific ideas I had about what might be the lyric. I knew the last words in the song were “away” over and over but I never heard clearly what led up to it, “But if you ask for a raise it’s no surprise that they’re giving none away, away, away”. On the whole though, it still doesn’t impress me as much as Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave and Grooving With A Pict.
