ralph and ben

ralph: I make the same mistakes and then I think about the mistakes all the time and how unlikely I am to get it together. I don’t know if I’m ever going to learn this song right.
ben: Same problem here. I think about what I can’t get right all the time.
ralph: I don’t replay those parts I can do, I only rethink the parts I screwed up.
ben: Why do we do that?
ralph: Because the parts you can already do don’t stress you out, so what you can’t do you worry about.
ben: I think it goes deeper.
ralph: What could be deeper?
ben: Maybe the mind desires a state of displeasure over a state of satisfaction.

ralph: Why?

ben: I’m not thinking about “the why”, just the facts ma’am.
