I am amazed. I never knew Get Back started as a song to confront the anti-immigrant rumblings happening at that time in London. I’m amazed when John mouths the lyrics to the camera of Let It Be while Paul is singing. I’m amazed in the tune Let It Be, roadie Mal Evans tells Paul to use “standing” instead of “waiting” and Glyn Johns directs Paul on the Pachelbel progression, before the signature motif is complete. I’m amazed at Linda and Yoko in their twenties. I’m amazed the three get together privately after George quits and understandably take time away from the cameras but am especially amazed the director hid a microphone in a flower pot and eavesdrops on his employers or am I especially amazed my moral outrage is no bigger than a guitar pick, because I am pleased to listen to every second of the shameful surveillance or am I amazed that their discussion demonstrates what assholes they are not, as they try to understand George’s view, unlike the rest of us assholes listening in.
