I was on the Bathurst streetcar heading south to pick up the car where Magali works. Some big accident apparently derailed traffic and I had to get off the streetcar at Dundas. I walked but by the time I got to Queen called for an Uber. While waiting, standing at the corner of Queen and Bathurst outside Pizza Pizza which used to be San Francescos just up the street from a health building that used to be my Mechanic T & S motors and across the street an interior design store that used to be The Holiday Tavern. The uber notification said the driver would be 9 more minutes and impulsively I darted across the street to stand inside the interior design store where Blue Rodeo played many times. I walked right over to the checker and chess set by the living room experience next to the unique light display. Looked back at the entrance to gauge exactly where I played solos. 40ish salesman approached me and asked if he could help. I said it’s ok I was just experiencing the surrealism. Next instant I felt bad for being weird and cryptic. I added I used to play in a band and performed here. He smiled and said me too. The Holiday Tavern? No, The Big Bop. Guy made it even more surreal.
