I’m looking through the many AI tools online and it reminds me how these already have established themselves in music. An app that writes long form content (moonbeam), an app for artwork (night cafe studio), Musicians noticed these changes over the last two decades with auto tune, or melodyne, or even how Logic offers you 30 different drummers or a hundred different simulated amplifiers. I’m expecting style imitations to come next, like play a few notes and then add the Chick Corea plug in that plays back your sequence “the way he would do it”, or the Margaret Atwood plug in to revise your text. No doubt cars held something similar to this transition when it was a horse and wagon world or electricity or libraries. I don’t think these radical changes are happening for the first time. One wonders how it will land down the road, how it will normalize itself.
