In our last open stage, Melanie, a student from Windsor, said it’s so unfair who gets to have a hit song and a career and who doesn’t. She said it’s all fixed and about who you know and exploiting the situation if you get a leg up. Rod, from Scarborough, argued that wasn’t true, that you only get a leg up if you had the talent to begin with. Sometimes they turn to me as if I’m King Solomon and maybe I know the best mystical answer like cut the baby in two…but all I really know is to check however Stevie Wonder weighs in. Lovers keep on Lovin’, Believers, keep on believin’, Sleepers just stop sleepin’. Doesn’t worry me too long.

I was reading about people scammed on the internet. Losing all their access. Held hostage by viruses created by crooks who are then positioned to do all sorts of financial harm. I thought about the lazy way I allow my passwords to work with autofill, how easy to use my browsers against me. Started to back paddle and delete passwords and rethink my way of surfing. Rely more on my memory now. At the same time, when security measures are put on display, I sort of shrug. I’m rarely convinced when people brag about how impenetrable their systems are. Weeds find a way to grow up through the new concrete. I didn’t like Trump, often while he was President, I thought if he wants he can start nuclear war. People keep on learning. Soldiers keep on warring. World keep on turning, ’cause it won’t be too long.
