I showed them a short film I found on Kanopy in yesterday’s class. It was an Oscar nominated short about a kids choir in Hungary where the teacher instructed certain participants to only pretend to sing because she wanted them to win the big prize and found certain voices not good enough. Eventually there is a successful revolt and the teacher is humiliated and the activists are victorious and live happily ever after. Too bad there is no such thing as happily ever after or a world where the activists are victorious and the evil doer appropriately humiliated and later fades away. The real lesson was just telling a story, singing a song, making a film.
