I acted in a video today. I did a bad job. I didn’t understand the dialogue and next time (if there is a next time) I must speak up and get answers to explain it or correct it. But, just like when one is trying to coax a musical performance out of an artist, one who you know can do the thing you wish them to do, if you give too many messages the thing dilutes more easily than concentrates. Then again sometimes I acquire what I want from someone in the studio who is oblivious I can make it stronger later in my editing. When they heard it later they were pleasantly surprised and approved. Maybe the video editing room will turn me around too. Does Daniel Day Lewis ever feel like this in his blog?
