Listening to an interview with cognitive scientist Geoffrey Hinton, often called the godfather of AI. He is concerned about the rapidity of AI and when the interviewer asks him for an example of what worries him he replies “how many examples can you give me of a less intelligent thing controlling a more intelligent one?” I started wondering about that. I came up with people using Auto Tune as a noticeable effect instead of hidden help. Oy. “People should be very uncertain about what its going to look like. It would seem very wise to do lots of empirical experiments when its slightly less smart than us.”
