I hear a message on the overhead speakers when I ride the subway of the Toronto Transit Commission to stay off the tracks or face a $5000 punishment. I do not recall hearing such slogans with this frequency in the past. interestingly often while I am on way to Seneca Polytechnic adjacent to York University, the ttc is delayed and when they announce the reason it is precisely this issue. A voice that sounds free of emotion and a human heart comes on and informs us that there is a delay due to an unauthorized person on the tracks. I wonder how odd this coincidence or could it be related to the frequency with which people hear about walking on the subway tracks? Like do the many warnings become the chemistry behind the actual event transpiring? To tell someone not to think of a pink grand piano means they instantly think of a pink grand piano.
