One notices the determination not to acknowledge the loud hostile audiences and then you remember his last job was high school acting teacher. What is the difference between national politician and high school drama teacher? Both bad acting is all. I was at a play once with Anand. He hated it. The play was fine with me but Anand spared nothing after it was over unloading on the actor because of what was absent for him. The actor was not connected to his role sort of thing is what I recall him saying. An angle I had not thought about the way Anand did. I just followed the story. Same thing when Soozie was in my studio and singled out the portrait by Mendelson Joe because of the angle of the face and the colours. She was impressed with something unique about the angle. So much certainty about what was going on for Joe making that painting. Maybe she is right, Anand too. We have different ways to consider something when it is our life’s work.
