I read about the play Zero Hour by Jim Brochu and after finding nothing in libraries or book stores here, ordered it from the states. A one man play. What do I know about Zero Mostel? He was blacklisted, he couldn’t work because he attended communist parties and in the 50s signed a petition to allow black players into the National Baseball League. In the 60s his career was resurrected, he played Max Bialystock in Springtime For Hitler and then A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Fiddler on the Roof. I was a rabid fan of the solo Beatles in the 70s and George Harrison’s Dark Horse album had a gate-fold with picture inside of Harrison imitating Mostel and Wilder walking in the park. I loved the mystery of it all.
