There is a guy who started attending the open stage who plays well enough but I had not really tuned into his writing until last night when he played a song I think a hit. It’s an awesome thing when you hear a hit. It doesn’t necessarily mean the world will grasp it as fast as you, or even at all, but it’s real, you know it’s a hit. When I heard Ron Sexsmith play Speaking With the Angel or Kyp Harness do Old Grey House or Lynn Miles do More. You know famous people that if they recorded it would become even more of a famous song. There could be no resistance it couldn’t be more obvious. Too bad so many gatekeepers like border guards unwilling to let you proceed. One must think more sideways to do battle with border guards. Devise a plan for getting the hit known, which you’re unlikely to succeed at, but what else matters?
