I like the way Randy Newman’s 1972 song aged:
the Christians and the Jew,
were having a jamboree,
The Buddhists and the Hindus
joined on satellite TV,
picked their four greatest priests
and they began to speak,
said Lord a plague is on the world,
Lord no man is free,
the temples that we built to you
have tumbled into the sea,
Lord if you won’t take care of us
won’t you please please set us free…
and then God answers he isn’t interested in any of it but
is amazed humans put their faith in believing he cares.
