At school you are expected each week to read much and understand it as well as if it was really compelling. Most students I become friends with admit to often only reviewing the material the day before and some don’t even do the readings. People look for shortcuts to demonstrate understanding instead of substantially knowing it. It defeats the point of why the teacher assigned this or that reading no?

Makes me think of tours and different sound-people every night. If you worked with one person each night you could experiment build something unique. A lot of sound-people laugh and double check if I’m joking when I say we’re done because my sound-checks are momentary, check everything works, that they have signal, we’re done. They don’t know any of my songs, doubtful it makes a difference to play them now. I’ve seen some people practically do their entire set in sound check as if the sound person will know all the cues later. Good luck with that.
