When the open stage at Bloor United church had to move I was upset and called an old friend to help figure out what we could do. He didn’t care, even laughed at me for taking it seriously. He said these things pop up again you don’t know where and when. He was right, many others have popped up plus the old one continued in a new home. Another friend posts a list of companies that have been bought by corporations like Burt’s Bees, Tom’s of Maine, 7th Generation and somebody started crying about it. Tsk Tsk I thought, there are other tiny companies you can still find and support that the corps don’t yet know about. It’s like a band you love and once the corps smell the money they sign and it isn’t necessarily as interesting as when they are your secret. There’s lots of secrets.
