Still can’t figure out how to make the thing in G that goes to Bb and the D, sound more surprising. It’s a very familiar experience and awful because one waits to be surprised and that very act foils any surprise poking its head out of the bushes. My favourite part on my last record is in the song about the RCMP taser murder of Robert Dziekanski, when Michael Holt says “surprise” like a clown who reveals he’s hiding no more.
